Nicola Oakey
Nicola is an award-winning garden designer, writer and horticulturist based in the picturesque county of Rutland. Growing up in rural Devon, she was always surrounded by amazing landscapes and the natural world. Combined with her love of art and her family’s green fingers, it's no surprise that Nicola’s love of everything plant and garden-related is definitely in her blood.
In 2013, she completed a Diploma in Garden Design and has gone on to win two Royal Horticultural Society medals for show gardens she has created. This includes being the only female finalist in the RHS’ Young Designer of the Year competition, which was featured on BBC television. In 2019, she won Pro Landscaper’s prestigious ’30 Under 30′ award, recognising her as one of the up-and-coming designers in the country.
