Lara Raffaelli
I’m an editor, an academic in Italian literature, and above all, an avid plant lover/garden designer. Having run out of planting space in my own garden, I turned my attention to other people’s spaces. I qualified with a Diploma in Garden Design, with Distinction, in 2019, and have been designing gardens from the outset. I’m passionate about nature, the environment and conservation, am a secret guerrilla gardener, and recently became Press Officer for the Harborough Woodlands project. My objective is to help people achieve a beautiful, natural and above all, sustainable outdoor space, because it’s so good for one to be in the fresh air and especially, to watch the cycle of nature and growth. It harbours respect for life. My preferences are for a natural perennial garden, with plenty of structure, and emphasis on the plantings rather than on the hard landscaping. I love painting and photography, and helping to bring beauty to the world; designing gardens brings my love of beauty and botany together.
